🔥 Prep
- Measure out 1 tsp of Shou pu-erh tea leaves.
- Measure out 200 ml of fresh water.
🔥 Cook
- 1. Bring the 200 ml of water to a boiling temperature (100°C) over medium-high heat.
- 2. Once boiling, remove the pot from heat and let the water cool slightly to about 95°C (ideal for Shou pu-erh).
- 3. Place the 1 tsp of Shou pu-erh leaves into a teapot or infuser.
- 4. Pour the hot water (95°C) over the tea leaves.
- 5. Allow the tea to steep for 3 to 5 minutes, adjusting time for desired strength.
- 6. After steeping, remove the tea leaves or strain the liquid into a serving cup.
🔥 Serve
- Serve the Shou pu-erh hot in a tea cup, optionally accompanied by a small plate of dim sum or plain steamed buns.
- Enjoy the tea plain or with a slice of lemon or a drizzle of honey if desired.
