🔥 Prep

  • Cut the 100 g pork into bite-sized pieces.
  • Peel and dice 1 onion.
  • Slice 0.5 zucchini into half-moon pieces.
  • Measure 3 tbsp black bean paste.
  • Measure 1 tbsp sugar.
  • Measure out 200 g wheat noodles and set aside.

🔥 Cook

  • 1. Heat a skillet over medium heat; add the pork and stir-fry until no longer pink, for 3-4 minutes.
  • 2. Add the diced onion and sliced zucchini; stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
  • 3. Stir in the black bean paste and sugar; cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • 4. Pour in 100 ml water; reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes until sauce thickens.
  • 5. Cook the wheat noodles in boiling water for 5-6 minutes until al dente; drain and rinse with cold water.
  • 6. Toss the noodles with the black bean sauce; heat over low heat for 1 minute to warm through.

🔥 Serve

  • Serve the jajangmyeon hot in a deep bowl.
  • Garnish with sliced cucumber strips and a side of kimchi.
  • Optionally top with a soft-boiled egg for extra richness.
