👨‍🍳 Cooking Instructions

Full recipe instructions for preparing Fried Wontons

🔥 Prep

  • Finely mince 1 tsp ginger.
  • Chop 1 tbsp green onion.
  • Combine 150 g pork with the minced ginger, chopped green onion, and 1 tbsp soy sauce in a bowl; mix until well incorporated.
  • Lay out 16 pcs wonton wrapper on a clean surface.
  • Place about 1 teaspoon of the pork filling in the center of each wrapper.
  • Moisten the edges of each wrapper with a little water, then fold to form a triangle or purse shape, pressing to seal and remove air pockets.

🔥 Cook

  • 1. Pour 2 cup oil into a deep pot or wok and heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (use a thermometer).
  • 2. Carefully add a batch of the prepared wontons, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot.
  • 3. Fry the wontons for 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally, until they turn golden brown and crisp.
  • 4. Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried wontons and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • 5. Repeat steps 2-4 with the remaining wontons, adjusting heat as needed to maintain 350°F.
  • 6. Once all wontons are fried, sprinkle lightly with a pinch of salt if desired and serve immediately.

🔥 Serve

  • Arrange the fried wontons on a serving platter.
  • Offer a dipping sauce made of soy sauce mixed with a dash of rice vinegar and chopped green onion.
  • Pair with a light cucumber salad or steamed jasmine rice for a balanced meal.
