🔥 Prep
- Measure out 1 tsp of Earl Grey tea leaves.
- Measure out 200 ml of cold water.
🔥 Cook
- 1. Pour the 200 ml of water into a small saucepan and place over high heat until it reaches a rolling boil (boiling, about 2-3 minutes).
- 2. Once the water is boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and immediately pour the hot water over the 1 tsp of Earl Grey tea leaves placed in a teapot or infuser.
- 3. Cover the teapot and let the tea steep for 3 minutes to allow the bergamot aroma to infuse.
- 4. After steeping, remove the tea leaves (or lift the infuser) and pour the brewed tea into a serving cup.
- 5. Allow the tea to cool for 1 minute if desired before drinking.
🔥 Serve
- Serve the Earl Grey tea hot, optionally with a slice of lemon or a splash of milk.
- Accompany with traditional British biscuits such as shortbread or digestive cookies.
- Enjoy alongside a slice of lemon drizzle cake or a plain scone with clotted cream and jam.
