- Measure 1 tablespoon of cardamom (if using whole pods, lightly crush them).
- Measure a pinch of saffron threads.
🔥 Cook
- 1. Place the measured 4 cups of water in a dallah (Arabic coffee pot) or small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- 2. Once boiling, add the 3 tablespoons of coffee powder and the 1 tablespoon of cardamom, stirring to combine.
- 3. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes to extract the flavors.
- 4. Add the pinch of saffron threads and continue to simmer on low for an additional 2 minutes.
- 5. Remove the pot from heat and let the coffee rest for 1 minute to allow the grounds to settle.
- 6. Carefully pour the coffee into small serving cups (finjan), avoiding the sediment at the bottom.
🔥 Serve
- Serve the Arabic coffee hot in traditional small cups (finjan).
- Accompany with sweet dates or Arabic sweets such as baklava or ma'amoul.
- Optionally, garnish each cup with a single saffron thread for visual appeal.
